Like so many things in the beer world, Fädervikt began with a mistake.

In 2022, we brewed a Dry Stout for Akkurat and Oliver Twist and named it Fjädervikt — Swedish for “Featherweight” — to reflect its low ABV. But when Akkurat’s former bar manager “Strömmen” entered it into the register, a finger slipped. The letter J disappeared, and suddenly the beer was called Fädervikt, which roughly translates to “Fatherweight”.

The bar staff thought it was hilarious and suggested we brew that beer for real — the father of the original. Twice the strength, same attitude.

And so Fädervikt was born. The father of Fjädervikt.

Yes, we’ve been mixing up the names ever since. But we’re very happy with the beer.
